ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS

and nearby areas

even Rotterdam has beautiful sunsets,
a view from our window.

tulips, tulips, tulips
These tulips are carved wood.

we are staying just two blocks from Station Centraal,
we seem to start and end our travels from here every day.

M. C. Escher
exhibit covering his life of
graphic arts, painting, pen and ink drawings. He was hired by many corporations ands retail companies to design their logos.

Escher's art is in the former winter palace of Queen Emma of The Netherlands, 19th C.

Using some of his graphic designs, the floors were covered with cut pieces of carpet tile.
A man after Ron's own heart - Ah carpet!

More pen & ink,
woodcuts, linotypes and painting
with intricate detail was Escher's style.

DELFT

Oops! Missed the "t"

Just another lovely canal.

and there's Ron on the bridge looking for that
perfect photo to capture.

This looks sorta like some of Ron's photos,
but this is really tippy on its own
and definitely not his quality of work

Another little travel poem to share:

my years are like my old shoes

that fit just right

when we started walking together

it was a learning curve

they were new   tight    unscuffed

now I don’t want them to get

any more worn

some folks say

I take good care of my shoes

and look good for my age

but I can see the wear

I know where they have been

how many miles they have covered

through storms   on sandy beaches

over miles of rocky roads and heartaches

still somewhat in fashion

certainly ready

for an update

    ramosser

Except my current travel shoes are starting

to  lean outwards, ready for an update.
