Celebrity Eclipse Repositioning Cruise 

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida - Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Ft Lauderdale, and that's just the beginning as we head to Amsterdam. 


Ft. Lauderdale, FL

is our embarkation point for this
14 day Repositioning Cruise

Just 3 days here while we await the boarding of our cruise.

Stonewall Memorial,  Ft. Lauderdale
The original Stonewall Monument is in New York City
established after a police raid on the Stonewall Inn in 1969 

The Florida memorial was established in 1972 (or 1973), it serves as a center for LGBTQ+ history, featuring a museum, archives, and library dedicated to preserving and sharing queer culture. A long history of Gay culture in America began during the civil war.





I know this is a lot of information, but I find it extremely interesting. 

The young gentleman who started this memorial in Ft. Lauderdale 

was 17 years old when he started his research regarding gay America 

Currently it is staffed by multiple volunteers.


The Cruise

The cruise ports are Madeira & Porto, Portugal;  La Coruńa, Spain;  Dover, England and finally Amsterdam, The Netherlands with 14 deliciously relaxing days at sea. 

           It's not a small ship, but it is staffed perfectly and fully restored in 2025



Now on board, we find our way to our stateroom, number 1243 on the 10th floor. Why is it on the 10th floor, hmmm, when our room is 1243? I really do not know how they determined this phenomenon.


After we set sail from sunny Ft. Lauderdale, 
over time the skies changed to cloudy, windy & rainy. 
 Thus begins the Rock N' Roll of the North Atlantic Sea.

    Here we go!

We continue to be  mesmerized by nightly theater performances: 


Nicola Ward
An evening of delightful entertainment. 
She sang Celine, Adele, Whitney, Tina and many others with grace.
Each evening there are varied shows. 



Topper
This show was super energetic with dancing, aerialists & acrobatics.  
The cast sang a whimsical upbeat modified collaboration 
of show tunes such as
Over the Rainbow, Uptown Funk, A Sky Full of Stars & more.

MAVERICK ROVER WORLD  Blog Post #82 PARIS, France   Paris Metro Definitely a life saver since we are convinced that we probably spent 20% of our time underground in the massive metro system traveling in and around Paris. This is not a complaint  because there was so much that we experienced.  Getting around Paris on the Metro is vey easy.  All you need to  do is purchase a Metro card for 2€ (Euros) at most subway stations, and then you can load the card with as many rides as you like. The card can be reloaded at anytime. You simply tap in with your card at the entry for the ride of your choice. The cost is about 2€ per one way ride, as long as you keep going in the same direction you never pay again no matter how many transfers you take.  Then your return will be another 2€, and so on. MAVERICK ROVER WORLD Post #29 October 12, 2018 USA Portland, Oregon * Portland, City of 12 Bridges that span the Willamette River , each with it's own character.   While they all cross the same river,  there has been a divide for many years, west siders liked their side better and east siders liked their side better.  However, nowadays both sides of the river are known for their own identity. Each has  wonderful restaurants, businesses and social events abounding Mt. MAVERICK ROVER WORLD Post #13 June 18, 2018 Valencia, Spain Well folks, it's that time of year again all around the world. GAY PRIDE was revolutionized after Stonewall, NYC on June 28 (my birthday), 1969, when I was 22 years old.  Thanks to all those who stood up and protested in support of gay rights, however, there is still much work to be done. Gay Rights = Human Rights The Valencia  PRIDE parade was similar in some ways,  and yet different in many ways from those that we have experienced in the US.  The differences were that attendees and marchers  in the parade were allowed to smoke, drink and walk naked if they chose, as one woman did, to support  women 's rights.  This parade had no local government officials campaigning, no contingent of local police marching, and no pet contingent.  What they did have were numerous drum core  groups rocking the parade and a large contingent ju...
