                                            Why I Travel


if I look long enough

see countless countries

cross the seven seas

surely the missing piece 

of me will appear


if I dream every evening

walk like a whimsical wayfarer

pierce the sky with selflessness

ask nothing of anyone’s nonsense

surely I’ll find enough of me

somewhere to latch on to


if I listen loudly

meander enough miles

sit for a second or a spell

open the oneness from within

surely a door will open

and there I will be


until then I’ll travel

with eyes wide open

mind outstretched

for that missing piece 

of me I know exists 

in a faraway place

somewhere

MAVERICK ROVER WORLD  Blog Post #82 PARIS, France   Paris Metro Definitely a life saver since we are convinced that we probably spent 20% of our time underground in the massive metro system traveling in and around Paris. This is not a complaint  because there was so much that we experienced.  Getting around Paris on the Metro is vey easy.  All you need to  do is purchase a Metro card for 2€ (Euros) at most subway stations, and then you can load the card with as many rides as you like. The card can be reloaded at anytime. You simply tap in with your card at the entry for the ride of your choice. The cost is about 2€ per one way ride, as long as you keep going in the same direction you never pay again no matter how many transfers you take.  Then your return will be another 2€, and so on.
