We'll be here for Christmas Eve Midnight Mass

(no, we are not Catholic but it will be festive)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

all around San Miguel

*

Our AirBnB

on Callejon del Atascadero,

CASA DEL SOL

This is the walk down to 7B

this is the walk up to 7B,

neither is accessible for automobiles

*

 San Miguel de Allende (SMA) 

never fails, 

as it is truly Mexico's version of

Santa Fe, New Mexico,

but on steroids.

SMA lies three hours north of Mexico City

and one and one half hour from Guanajuato (GTO), MX.

Luckily it does not have its own airport, thus the city

is accessible only by car or bus.

Proof positive that it truly is a

Destination location.

SMA is filled with 

Boutique Hotels a plenty;

Restaurants with superb and high quality cuisine;

Art at your fingertips, from galleries and studios 

to workshops in every medium known to man; 

Shopping for couture and indigenous clothing, as well as

markets with fresh fruits and vegetables.

Locally made hats provide sun protection 

Milagros for healing

Our lives are changed forever after experiencing 

Annie's story. 

Her passion for life, photography, people, 

her family of three daughters and

 her decade+ love relationship with Susan Sontag, 

an iconic writer who passed from cancer.

Contrary to the opinion of many, 

she states that her life as a photographer 

and her personal life

are one and the same.

Oops!

Sometimes finishing off a meal means dumping the

pyrex dish filled with an egg breakfast into the trash. 

Why?

Roger placed the hot pyrex dish onto the cold granite

counter top and it cracked every which direction. 

The good news is that he had burned the bottom of the

breakfast meal so it held the glass dish together enough to

scrap the good part of the meal onto our plates. 

Voila!

Desayuno (breakfast) saved,

 but pyrex in the garbage. 

And we are still alive.
