Silver Lake (Los Angeles), CA

A walk to and around the lake affords beautiful views of

the hills, Griffith Park Observatory, the Hollywood sign

and of course a lot of hipsters, their babies and  their dogs.

The surrounding area is peppered with farm to table restaurants, trendy coffee shops, boutiques and brew pubs

When you travel to LA 

and you have grand kids,

this is what you do,

you watch them at

on the walkway below is "Isabel", the invisible lady sculpture 

In front of the Palm Springs Art Museum

 is this installation of 

"Babies"

The sculptures, affectionately known here as “The Palm Springs Babies,” were created by controversial Czech Republic artist David Černý 

These babies have been seen across the globe 

from Prague, on the Zizkov Television Tower, around the globe and now to Palm Springs.

The artists intention with his "barcode" faces 

on the babies is to show how we are 

dehumanizing society

When we arrived home we found this 

creepy crawly monster in our back yard. 

Oh, I guess it is just a palm frond. Ha!!

Next we are off to Portland, Oregon 

and then Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
