Irwell River in Central Manchester 



Saturday afternoon street scene on a sunny day
 we brought with us from California for the locals.
Many love the sun, but they do not
like the heat that comes with it.
We have had very little rain thus far in the UK
Bus stop with a Bio Friendly rooftop with plants on top




Manchester Cathedral
Today there was a Gin & Rum
tasting event in the cathedral. Hmmm!
or is it Yum?

See the BEE?
Bees are
everywhere this 
summer in 
Manchester.  There are 101 bees plus another hundred little bees  by kids.



The Bee In The City
world class sculpture trail is inspired by Manchester's celebrated worker bee emblem (on the iron post above) which has been part of the city's heraldry for over 150 years and is synonymous with its pioneering and creatively industrious spirit.

The bees will be auctioned off at the end of September and the monies raised during the project will go to 
"We Love MCR Charity" 
which supports diversity and those who need help in Manchester.

Manchester's Central Library with its historic center

City Hall, next door,  houses an extensive Music Library
with pianos throughout the library
for folks to reserve and play at their leisure

A little bridge we walked across near our house in Manchester.
This waterway is
The River Mersey
which becomes much larger down river

Jackson's Boat Pub
Sweet pub with some local beers that we were inspired to try

MAVERICK ROVER WORLD  Blog Post #82 PARIS, France   Paris Metro Definitely a life saver since we are convinced that we probably spent 20% of our time underground in the massive metro system traveling in and around Paris. This is not a complaint  because there was so much that we experienced.  Getting around Paris on the Metro is vey easy.  All you need to  do is purchase a Metro card for 2€ (Euros) at most subway stations, and then you can load the card with as many rides as you like. The card can be reloaded at anytime. You simply tap in with your card at the entry for the ride of your choice. The cost is about 2€ per one way ride, as long as you keep going in the same direction you never pay again no matter how many transfers you take.  Then your return will be another 2€, and so on. MAVERICK ROVER WORLD Post #29 October 12, 2018 USA Portland, Oregon * Portland, City of 12 Bridges that span the Willamette River , each with it's own character.   While they all cross the same river,  there has been a divide for many years, west siders liked their side better and east siders liked their side better.  However, nowadays both sides of the river are known for their own identity.
