Jazz week in Valencia, this is a beach venue, FREE for everyone to enjoy and to hopefully get "Hooked on Jazz".  We were already hooked, thanks to our time in Idyllwild, CA.

After jazz, a little local food at the harbor, eating gambas (prawns) deep fried, with heads and all,  and calamari con vino.

Our second visit to Placa de Patriarca for another musical event with innovative movement. The open roof delayed the event for about 30 minutes, but all was well when the rain stopped.

Now this is fancy, at the Opera House 
with new Valenciano friends.

La damnation de Faust

 This just might be the most modern, contemporary version of this opera that has ever been produced. You really had to be there, however think of modern hospital beds, life size rats, the main tenor in a hospital gown with his pants dropped to his feet and an on-stage videographer filming the event. And about 50 kids marching on stage with candles. Go figure!

MAVERICK ROVER WORLD  Blog Post #82 PARIS, France   Paris Metro Definitely a life saver since we are convinced that we probably spent 20% of our time underground in the massive metro system traveling in and around Paris. This is not a complaint  because there was so much that we experienced.  Getting around Paris on the Metro is vey easy.  All you need to  do is purchase a Metro card for 2€ (Euros) at most subway stations, and then you can load the card with as many rides as you like. The card can be reloaded at anytime. You simply tap in with your card at the entry for the ride of your choice. The cost is about 2€ per one way ride, as long as you keep going in the same direction you never pay again no matter how many transfers you take.  Then your return will be another 2€, and so on. MAVERICK ROVER WORLD Post #29 October 12, 2018 USA Portland, Oregon * Portland, City of 12 Bridges that span the Willamette River , each with it's own character.   While they all cross the same river,  there has been a divide for many years, west siders liked their side better and east siders liked their side better.  However, nowadays both sides of the river are known for their own identity.
