PARIS & CHEVIGNY, France 


Moulin Rouge - 5/23/24

before our experience


We enjoyed the amazing and tantilizing show which is sort of a mix between 
Can Can Cabaret and Cirque de Soleil
We attended the 11:30pm show, 
which ended at about 1:00am.

 Moulin Rouge - 5/24/24 after our experience
(notice the missing blades from the windmill) 
Sometime after our exit of the venue and before daylight, 
the 100 year old blades fell off the windmill 
taking the first 3 letters of Moulin Rouge down with them. 

No one was injured and no foul play was noted.

at Eustache Cathedral. 
A light show and musical extravaganza 
with a live orchestra, 
church organ and choir music
resonating through 22 speakers.

a special exhibit of a little known artist
Brancusi,
a contemporary of Picasso during the early 1900s, 
and so much more.




CHEVIGNY, France
This is where Roger's high school friend 
lives with his wife.
It's a 400+ year old farm compound, now divided into three residential units, 
a barn and two art studios. 
'Pastoral Extraordinaire'
hardly describes the essence of this outstanding property.



The red line through the village name indicates that you are leaving town,
the fact that it is upside down means that the local farmers are protesting the low price of grain sales and the high price of purchasing goods.

MAVERICK ROVER WORLD  Blog Post #82 PARIS, France   Paris Metro Definitely a life saver since we are convinced that we probably spent 20% of our time underground in the massive metro system traveling in and around Paris. This is not a complaint  because there was so much that we experienced.  Getting around Paris on the Metro is vey easy.  All you need to  do is purchase a Metro card for 2€ (Euros) at most subway stations, and then you can load the card with as many rides as you like. The card can be reloaded at anytime. You simply tap in with your card at the entry for the ride of your choice. The cost is about 2€ per one way ride, as long as you keep going in the same direction you never pay again no matter how many transfers you take.  Then your return will be another 2€, and so on. MAVERICK ROVER WORLD POST #8 MAY 12, 2018 Valencia, Spain & Palma de Mallorca AN ANCIENT MASSIVE METAL ENTRY DOOR Ron and Roger busy at work on their computers, each with their own task.  Ron is journaling, doing finances and editing photos. Roger is booking flights, trains, rooms and researching local things to do in Valencia and in our future destinations.  And then there is the travel guide book sitting lonely, while we do most of our research on the internet. We are thinking that we will probably refrain from purchasing heavy guide books for future destinations.  This first month has been very fulfilling, as we have seen a good share of Valencia, and it has also given us time to work on planning and adjusting and readjusting our busy calendar.  These backpacks , purchased from Index Urban in San Diego, are the bomb. MAVERICK ROVER WORLD Post #6 April 27, 2018 Valencia, Spain Another door to contemplate   Most mornings we go to the outdoor gym area for some self-imposed yoga, some sit ups and several sets of upper body workout on the machines, then back to the apartment for breakfast. On an afternoon walk from our apartment we walked along the Turia Riverbed Gardens, as we often do. Every time is a new experience. This day we explored the:  Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences) which houses the  Oceanografic,   the largest of its kind in Europe with  marine animals from the seven seas.    Hemisferic, has a heavy lidded eye structure as its surface, it includes an IMAX theatre.  Palau de las Artes  Palau de les Arts , the worlds largest Opera Auditorium The City of Arts & Sciences also houses the world renowned Berklee School of Music, ...
