Built in 1929 and refurbished in 2016, it is an outstanding 
venue for all things cultural; 
Symphony, Opera, Ballet, Broadway Shows & more 





Don Quixote was performed in all its splendor with a packed house on a cool fall Thursday evening.

Palacio Barolo
Built in 1919 as the tallest building in Latin America
by Luis Barolo, a progressive powerful agricultural producer who moved to Argentina from Italy.

The Neo-Romanesque / Neo-Gothic style of architecture 
is represented through
Dante's Divine Comedy
of Hell, on the lower levels design, 
Purgatory, in the middle section, 
and Heaven, on the upper floors. 
Palacio Barolo is an office complex with its sister building, 
Palacio Salvo in
Montevideo, Uruguay. 
Separated by 125 miles, each lighthouse beams from its top floor  
over the (river) Rio de La Plata providing navigational guidance 
in the dark of night.

Centro Cultural Kirchner
Built as a Post Office in 1890
and later transformed into this amazing
Cultural Center
maintaining most of its original character and components

As well as using its magnificent rooms for 
concerts, performances and meeting spaces


We attended a Gratis (free) piano recital at Centro Cultural Kirchner (CCK); Clasica Joven.  An extremely talented young man performed solo for over an hour.  He played classical pieces composed by….. Scarlatti, Beethoven, Brahms and Liszt, plus two encore pieces by Schubert.  The performance was set in the Salon De Honor. 

José David Rocha is a world renowned pianist who was born in London and has performed in Italy, Germany and, of course, Argentina to name a few. We cannot comprehend the level of talent and the amount of dedication and practice it must take to do what we just witnessed.

MAVERICK ROVER WORLD Post #6 April 27, 2018 Valencia, Spain Another door to contemplate   Most mornings we go to the outdoor gym area for some self-imposed yoga, some sit ups and several sets of upper body workout on the machines, then back to the apartment for breakfast. MAVERICK ROVER WORLD  Blog Post #82 PARIS, France   Paris Metro Definitely a life saver since we are convinced that we probably spent 20% of our time underground in the massive metro system traveling in and around Paris. This is not a complaint  because there was so much that we experienced.  Getting around Paris on the Metro is vey easy.  All you need to  do is purchase a Metro card for 2€ (Euros) at most subway stations, and then you can load the card with as many rides as you like. The card can be reloaded at anytime. You simply tap in with your card at the entry for the ride of your choice. The cost is about 2€ per one way ride, as long as you keep going in the same direction you never pay again no matter how many transfers you take.  Then your return will be another 2€, and so on.
