Forgotten |
Our days here in Costa Blanca have been most relaxing as we can walk to the beach in just one kilometer (0.6 Mile), many restaurants and bars, several grocery stores and two bus stops that connect us to fun little towns and marinas.

Torrevieja, SP marina |
Recently, Ron and I met Parker Pope. I spoke to him in Spanish to ask a question about the marina, but in no time flat we both spoke in English, he is from St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a sailor on his way from Spain to Greece, Turkey and then Puerto Rico with a gentleman from Portland, Oregon who has just refurbished a sailboat here in Torrevieja. A very interesting guy, another confirmation that our travels are in sync with so many interesting and unique people who are on world and life explorations.

Things we have learned:
*Book reading is good. NOOK book readers are perfect for travel. No muss, no fuss, very little weight and you can add a new book whenever you like. It’s really fun to read historical novels about the area you are visiting. Currently I am reading ORIGIN, by Dan Brown. The story takes place in Spain; mostly Barcelona, Bilbao at the Guggenheim Museum and nearby Monserrat Monastery.
*Random walk back home from dropping off our rental car, we stumble into The Berliner Restaurant. Extremely affordable, wonderful service and scrumptious cuisine. We have learned that this area of Spain is one of THE getaway places for Germans and Scandinavians alike; thus many restaurants are geared for them by owners who, themselves come from Germany and Scandinavia.
Original Poem by Roger
This poem was inspired by the many doors of Europe through which we have entered, and some of which we only dreamed of entering.
key sense
keys intrigue my senses
weight of the metal
coolness to the touch
shape for the keyhole
jangle when the parson opens the cathedral door
keys intrigue my senses
inscriptions on ancient metal
notches cut to precision
embedded sweat and grime
clink of keys against coins in his pocket
clink of keys against coins in his pocket
found keys
with no meaning at all
with no meaning at all
some say the key to the heart is
a soft kiss
a red rose
dark chocolate
key making
a delicious craft
