GLASGOW & ERSKINE, SCOTLAND
Remember that Ron's sir name is
ERSKINE
Erskine Family Crest
"Je Pense Plus"
(I Think More)
Erskine Tartan
*
Alloa (a'loa) Tower
Original home of John Erskine Family
when he was the 6th Earl of Mar
to Mary Queen of Scotts
in the 16th Century
As Earl of Mar, the Erskines were and still are "keepers" of Stirling Castle
Alloa Tower and Stirling Castle
are located about 7 miles apart on The River Forth
Stirling Castle

In ancient times the Royals unlocked the lock when they arrived.
Pictured here is The Earl of Mar, an Erskine still to this day, handing the key to Queen Elizabeth II
In current times, they simply touch the key to signify the opening of the door
*
Central Station in Glasgow is an attractive, convenient train facility that services transport to most of Scotland
*
For other transport you can hire this taxi and fly around Scotland. Actually this is mural street art which can be seen all around central Glasgow
These images are painted on the old brick facades which are sometimes hidden down small alley ways, like this one
*
The Mackintosh Lighthouse

This lighthouse is just one of the many structures created by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Generations ahead of his time, he was thought to be somewhat crazy with his ultra modern designs which are now in vogue. Many of his designs that were never built are similar to those of Frank Lloyd Wright and are on display at the lighthouse in mock-up
*

By the way, all museums in Glasgow are FREE to the public as a way to involve everyone, rich or poor, in the arts
Go Figure!
*

Street art of woven vines on top of flower containers along Buchanan Street and bagpipe performers who can be heard around the city every day of the year, come rain or come shine
*
Now this is a metaphor worth contemplating.
Big / Willie / Ginger / Beer

When in Scotland, do as the Scots do, Practice Whiskey!
It can be a satisfying, endless way to enjoy conversation, a cold rainy day, a lunch break or whatever.
*
Travel Tip
Breathe when you start to drive on the "other side" of the road in the UK, and never rent a manual gear shift
The future
lies before
you like a
field of
fallen snow
be careful
how you
tread
for every
step will
show
