MAVERICK ROVER WORLD Post #6 April 27, 2018 Valencia, Spain Another door to contemplate   Most mornings we go to the outdoor gym area for some self-imposed yoga, some sit ups and several sets of upper body workout on the machines, then back to the apartment for breakfast. On an afternoon walk from our apartment we walked along the Turia Riverbed Gardens, as we often do. Every time is a new experience. This day we explored the:  Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences) which houses the  Oceanografic,   the largest of its kind in Europe with  marine animals from the seven seas.    Hemisferic, has a heavy lidded eye structure as its surface, it includes an IMAX theatre.  Palau de las Artes  Palau de les Arts , the worlds largest Opera Auditorium The City of Arts & Sciences also houses the world renowned Berklee School of Music, ...

MAVERICK ROVER WORLD POST #5 APRIL 24, 2018 Sitges, Barcelona, Puigmolto. Spain Currently, I am working on this new Blog format for ease of reading.  Thanks for bearing with me up to this point, as I am still in the learning stages of Blog writing.  Puigmolto ,  SP -  a small village nestled in the middle of vineyards, olive groves and the quiet of the countryside while being only a stones throw from the Mediterranean Sea. We visited friends here who formerly lived in San Diego. Roger pointing at our apartment Arrival in Valencia, Spain on April 5, 2018 began the start of our Cosmopolite Life. Spring has sprung in Valencia with the sweet smell of orange blossoms on every street, even though last year's oranges still hang on the trees.  Also underfoot are petals of the flowering crab trees. Valencia orange trees in blossom Flowering Crab Trees The Turia River Bed extends for 9 km (5.59 miles) and includes 450 acres.  T he Turia River had flooded the city several times, however 1957 was nature's last opportunity to  inundate the city with excess water. At that  point the city fathers rerouted the river around Valencia to the  south.  The master plan for repurposing the river bed to a park was designed by Architect Richard Bofill.
